General Questions
Which subjects and levels does Ilmino cover?
Ilmino covers Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computer Science, Geography and History across KS3, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level. Grades map to the official 9–1 GCSE scale, colour-coded across the product.
Is Ilmino aligned with the exam boards?
Ilmino practice and marking are exam-board-aligned and mark-scheme-aligned, so questions and feedback reflect the style of the main boards. Ilmino is not exam-board approved or endorsed.
Can students take full, timed exams?
Yes. Students can practise in quick, standard and full timed exam modes that mirror real exam conditions, with marking on the 9–1 grade scale.
Can Ilmino read handwritten answers?
Yes. Students can write their working by hand on the interactive canvas, and Ilmino reviews the handwritten steps alongside the final answer.
Using Ilmino
How does Ilmino mark my work?
Marking is AI-supported and mark-scheme-aligned. Ilmino reviews your working steps, not only the final answer, and awards method marks where the mark scheme allows. Marking is not infallible, so teachers can review and override the results.
Does Ilmino only look at the final answer?
No. Ilmino analyses your working and method, highlighting where marks may be lost and where a misconception appears, so feedback reflects how you reached the answer.
How do the Bayesian recommendations work?
Ilmino keeps a running estimate of how well you have mastered each topic, based on your answers and working. As you practise, those estimates update, and Ilmino recommends the next topic that will help you improve the most.
Can teachers review or override the AI marking?
Yes. Teachers can review AI-supported marking and override it where needed, so the final decision stays with the teacher.
