Ask any maths teacher what loses students the most marks and you'll get the same answer: not showing the working. Ask any student why they don't show it on a screen and you'll get a fair reply: typing maths is miserable. So we stopped asking students to type it.
Write like it's paper
Every written question in practice and Test Mode now opens onto a canvas with ruled answer lines, spaced like a real exam booklet and scaled to the marks on offer: a 2-mark question gets a few lines, a 6-marker gets room to breathe. Write with a stylus, a finger, or a mouse. Pen, eraser, select and text tools are one tap away, and there's an undo for the optimists.
The calculator lives on the desk
A calculator sits inside the canvas toolbar, so checking 7.5% of 240 doesn't mean flipping apps and losing your train of thought. It floats above your working and stays out of the way until you need it.
Paper loyalists are covered
Prefer a biro and the back of your hand? Work on paper, then tap the camera button and upload a photo of your working instead. The photo goes to marking exactly as your canvas writing would. No one is forced to change how they think.
The marking reads it all
This is the part that matters. Whatever you hand in, canvas ink or photographed paper, our AI marking reads the working line by line and awards method marks against the real mark scheme, not just a tick or a cross on the final answer. You see where each mark came from and where the lost ones went.
Working out was never the boring part of maths; it is the maths. Now it has somewhere decent to live. Try it in your next practice session.
